The Delaware Forest Service has published its new 2013 Annual Report, which summarizes many of its program accomplishments over the past year.
For example, in FY13, the Delaware Forest Service awarded 27 community forestry grants totaling $108,342 for various urban and community forestry projects throughout Delaware. Other major highlights of the urban and community forestry program included the 3rd Annual Delaware Arborist and Tree Care Seminar at Wilmington’s Hagley Museum, the first-ever “Trees for the Bay” tree coupon program, and tree planting projects in the Town of Greenwood and at Woodbridge Elementary School that helped to enhance water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.
